17. Valentine's Day

Hello Everyone!

In honor of Valentine's day I am popping on here to talk about love. PSYCH! I really just needed somewhere to share all the photos from my recent shoot. This week I was feeling uncharacteristically light and inspired.

For my fellow artists out there, maybe you get into ruts too. I find myself playing the all too easy comparison game. I feel inadequate and untalented. Most of the time I just think I don't have the skill set that other photographers I know do. But really, when inspiration strikes one must answer the call.

While none of my artistic insecurities have subsided, I did find that I wanted to take more photos. Currently I have a severe lack of new scenery and models. But while I was hanging out in the obnoxious blue room at our house I thought to myself, this is like cotton candy. I think I would like to have a cotton candy shoot.

For those of you who know my photography style or really, just my everyday aversion to color.... yikes... You will understand that this is not the kind of inspiration I seek. Instagram grids usually reflect a photographer's style, but sometimes I find that to be a big creative block. So here I am tossing my aesthetic aspirations out the window and having fun.

So yesterday I walked into my roommate's room and said yoooooo wanna model for me in an hour. Being the hype woman she is, she said of course! Here are the photos that breathed life into my day off. I had so much fun picking up Copper (my camera) and just playing around.

If you are spending time with loved ones this weekend I hope you are reminded that love is special. If you are in desperate need of a valentine, then here I am! Let my photos be my valentine to you. <3 Go buy yourself some Cotton Candy, put on some good music, and dance around. Celebrate love and creativity. I am your cheerleader! Remember that art is creativity not an algorithm. As far as prophetic advice about love... I can't really help you there!
